This part of the world is populous but it remained backward economically until recent decades.

Much of the early history of Bangladesh is obscure. Phersu Atlas shows substantial gaps and often contradicts Geacron. The Wikipedia entries are somewhat useful but there seems to be a lack of primary sources.

Phersu Atlas even contradicts ifself. For example, see this map for 700 CE

which contradicts the city data for Dhaka

The 1 year rule of Gauda looks like an error.

Geacron shows a completely different 700 CE

There are also some spelling discrepancies.
